Josephine Beatrice Bowman, known as Beatrice, is listed as Burman in the British Journal of Nursing entry for October 3rd 1914. She was a Navy nurse who resigned to join the group. Later she became the the third Superintendent of the United States Navy Nurse Corps in 1922.
