39 wounded soldiers arrive at Oldway - Friday 31 August 1917

On Friday evening a convoy of 39 wounded soldiers arrived by Red Cross train from Southampton for Oldway Hospital. Twenty-seven were cot cases and 12 walking the former being carried in their stretchers by members of the Fire Brigade at the station and the voluntary staff at Oldway. This convoy again fills up the vacant beds, the Hospital being kept full by the authorities.
