Abridged from the Paignton Western Guardian 11 November 1916
The American Women’s War Hospital at Oldway is again full, a convoy of 111 arriving Tuesday evening and being removed to hospital in most unpropitious weather. Seventy-five of the cases were “cot” and it took necessarily a considerable time to dispatch the ambulance cars on their several journeys. The usual excellent arrangements were both made at the station and at Oldway, the Fire Brigade members being in attendance on the platform, and a capable staff receiving the patients at the end of their journey. There appeared to be several fairly bad cases, who are now having every attention.
